Admiral Tom Barrett
Tom Barrett served as the President and CEO of Alyeska Pipeline Service Company from 2004 to 2015. During his time at Alyeska, Barrett was responsible for the safe operation of one of the world’s most important oil pipelines, facing challenges such as declining oil production, aging infrastructure, and maintaining the pipeline’s environmental safety standards. Before taking the top job at Alyeska, Barrett’s career was marked by extensive experience in the energy sector, particularly in pipeline operations and project management. He had a storied 35-year career in the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring as Vice Commandant. And he served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation. Barrett remains active in business and civic life, serving on boards and supporting nonprofit organizations and initiatives.
