The Alaska Health Care Commission is a Governor’s appointed advisory body established by the legislature in 2010 to recommend strategies for improving health care cost, quality and access. Since its inception the Commission has identified significant opportunities, as well as a broad set of strategies, for improving value in Alaska’s acute medical care delivery system. In this report the Commission presents a new set of recommendations for strengthening fraud and abuse prevention and detection in the State’s Medicaid program.
